Here on Olvera Street, the birthplace of our beautiful city, the first Angelenos, "Los Pobladores," ate the simple, healthy and delicious food of their homeland. Now, within the walls of the Pelanconi House, Los Angeles' first brick building (circa 1855-57), we invite you to taste the history, tradition and authentic cuisine of early California.
In keeping with those traditions, La Golondrina Cafe (the house of the swallows) selects only the finest and freshest ingredients at Los Angeles' produce markets at dawn. Our expert cooks, relying on centuries-old secret recipes, combine them to create the dishes that have made us famous since 1924.
My grandmother's vision and commitment have spanned three generations as we continue the family tradition of La Golondrina Cafe: high quality, wholesome, homemade style cooking, fine service and warm hospitality. We hope you'll enjoy your excursion back into early California history at our landmark restaurant of fine, authentic Mexican cuisine.
La Golondrina Café is open seven days a week, there are strolling Troubadors daily and a lively Mariachi Band every Friday night from 7-10pm. We have patio dining, daily meal and bar specials, vegetarian meals, and breakfast is served all day. We also offer catering provided by special arrangements. Banquets and Large Parties Welcome.
